SEO in Saudi Arabia typically costs SAR 2,200 to SAR 5,000 a month for local work in one city, SAR 5,000 to SAR 15,000 for a bilingual Arabic and English retainer, and SAR 15,000 to SAR 30,000 or more for national or e-commerce programmes. One-off audits and projects usually run SAR 5,000 to SAR 30,000, plus 15% VAT.
Those are the ranges Saudi agencies publish in their own 2026 price guides, checked against the rates firms list on Clutch. Riyadh and Jeddah sit inside the same bands, but what you pay depends far more on your sector, your Arabic content needs and how many cities you want to rank in than on where the agency's office is. This guide explains what each budget level buys in the Kingdom, why Arabic SEO is priced the way it is, the warning signs in cheap offers, and how long it takes to see a return.
- 94.5% of search in Saudi Arabia runs through Google (StatCounter, September 2026)
- 34.4 million internet users in Saudi Arabia, 99% of the population (DataReportal, Digital 2026 report)
- 0.6% of websites worldwide publish in Arabic (W3Techs, October 2026)
- 15% VAT applies to agency fees in the Kingdom (PwC Worldwide Tax Summaries, July 2026)
- SAR 8,191 to 16,463 gross monthly pay for 80% of SEO analysts in Saudi Arabia (Paylab, October 2026)
SEO prices in Saudi Arabia: the 2026 ranges
The table combines the ranges published by Saudi agencies in 2026 (Digital Wasfa in Riyadh, July 2026; Digital Gravity KSA, June 2026; Entasher, March 2026). They are typical ranges quoted in the market, not a fixed tariff, and they exclude VAT.
| Engagement | Typical range quoted in the market | Usually fits |
|---|---|---|
| Local SEO, one city, one language | SAR 2,200 to 5,000 per month | A single clinic, showroom or restaurant in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam |
| Growth SEO | SAR 5,000 to 9,000 per month | SMEs targeting a city plus a set of service keywords |
| Bilingual SEO (Arabic and English) | SAR 9,000 to 15,000 per month | Companies ranking in both languages, across several cities or service lines |
| E-commerce SEO | SAR 12,000 to 25,000 per month | Online stores with large catalogues and Arabic product content |
| Enterprise or national SEO | SAR 15,000 to 30,000+ per month | Competitive national campaigns, large sites, regulated sectors |
| One-off audit or project | SAR 5,000 to 30,000 | Technical audits, migrations, site rebuilds, Arabic version launches |
| Hourly consulting | SAR 200 to 600 per hour | Strategy sessions, in-house team training, second opinions |
Add 15% VAT on top. A SAR 10,000 monthly retainer becomes SAR 11,500 on the invoice, or SAR 138,000 over a year, so confirm whether a proposal quotes before or after VAT.
What you get at each budget in the Kingdom
Under SAR 5,000: one city, one language
This budget pays for a Google Business Profile done properly, local citations, on-page fixes on your main pages and a monthly report. It works when you serve one area and your buyers search "near me" or by district, such as a dental clinic in Al Olaya or a car service centre in Al Rawdah. It will not carry a company trying to rank across the Kingdom for commercial terms.
SAR 5,000 to 15,000: the realistic band for most Saudi SMEs
Most B2B firms, healthcare groups and service companies in Riyadh and Jeddah land here. The lower half usually covers technical SEO, keyword mapping and a modest content plan in one language. Around SAR 9,000 and above, you should expect Arabic and English content built separately, outreach for links from Saudi publications and directories, and reporting tied to calls, WhatsApp clicks and form leads.
SAR 15,000 and up: national, e-commerce and regulated sectors
Ranking nationally for real estate, finance, healthcare or e-commerce terms means competing with funded players and marketplaces. Budgets rise because the content volume, digital PR and technical work are larger. Large catalogues also need structured data, Arabic product copy and crawl management that a services site never touches.
Why Arabic SEO costs what it does
Arabic is where most Saudi search demand sits and where most cheap SEO falls apart. Four things drive the price.
- Native keyword research. Saudis search in Modern Standard Arabic, in Saudi dialect, in English and in Arabic typed with Latin letters. Each service needs its own keyword set built from real queries, not a translated English list.
- Native writers. Arabic content has to read as if a Saudi wrote it. Machine translation shows immediately in word choice and tone, and it does not earn links or trust. Good Arabic copywriters cost more than generic content writers, and agency guides price SEO articles anywhere from SAR 450 to 2,500 per piece (Digital Gravity KSA, June 2026).
- Technical setup for two languages. Separate URLs for Arabic, correct hreflang, right-to-left templates and Arabic metadata. Fixing a site that swaps languages on one URL is a project in itself.
- Thin competition, which is an advantage. With only 0.6% of the web published in Arabic (W3Techs, October 2026), many Arabic results in Saudi Arabia are weaker than their English equivalents. Spending properly on Arabic often ranks faster than spending the same on English.
Google has also offered AI Overviews in Arabic since May 2025 (Google, May 2025). Arabic pages that answer questions directly, with sources and clear structure, now have a second route to visibility through AI answers as well as the blue links.
Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province
Published agency guides do not show a separate price list for Riyadh or Jeddah. What changes between cities is competition. Riyadh draws the most head office, government-adjacent and B2B demand, so commercial keywords there are usually the most contested. Jeddah has heavy competition in retail, hospitality and healthcare. The Eastern Province is industrial and B2B heavy, and often easier to rank in.
Every extra city adds work: its own landing pages, its own Business Profile listings and, for physical locations, local links and reviews. Ranking in three cities typically costs more than ranking in one, regardless of where your agency sits. If Jeddah is your main market, our page on digital marketing in Jeddah covers what we see working there.
Agency, freelancer or in-house?
Rates vary widely. Of the ten firms at the top of Clutch's Saudi Arabia SEO listing in October 2026, four list an average hourly rate of USD 25 to 49 (about SAR 94 to 184), three list USD 50 to 99 (about SAR 188 to 371) and one lists USD 300 or more. Minimum projects on the same list start at USD 1,000 to 10,000 (SAR 3,750 to 37,500).
| Option | Indicative cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Freelancer | Lowest monthly cost; often below the SAR 2,200 agency floor | A small site that needs on-page fixes and a few articles |
| Saudi agency | SAR 5,000 to 15,000 per month for most SMEs | Bilingual programmes with technical, content and link work under one roof |
| Regional or international agency | Higher minimums, often SAR 15,000+ | Multi-country GCC programmes and large e-commerce sites |
| In-house SEO analyst | SAR 8,191 to 16,463 gross a month for 80% of roles (Paylab, October 2026), plus tools and content | Companies with steady content needs and someone senior to manage the hire |
One in-house marketer plus an agency for technical and content work is often the most cost-effective model for mid-sized Saudi companies.
Warning signs in cheap Saudi SEO offers
Riyadh-based Digital Wasfa notes that low-cost SEO offers are typically priced below SAR 2,000 a month (July 2026). Some are honest small packages. Many are not. Watch for:
- Guaranteed first place on Google. Google states that no one can guarantee a number one ranking, and advises finding another provider if one promises it (Google Search Central).
- Bulk backlink packages. Hundreds of links for a few hundred riyals come from link farms and can trigger penalties.
- Arabic produced by translation software. Ask who writes the Arabic and request samples in your sector.
- No list of monthly deliverables. If the proposal cannot say which pages, articles and fixes you get each month, assume very little.
- You do not own the accounts. Search Console, Analytics, Google Business Profile and the content itself should belong to you.
- Reports that stop at rankings. You need calls, WhatsApp messages, leads and sales in the report to judge the return.
Realistic ROI timeline for SEO in KSA
SEO compounds slowly at first. Ahrefs found that only 6.11% of newly published pages in its English sample reached Google's top 10 within a year, and the average top-ranking page is five years old (Ahrefs, May 2025). Arabic results are often less contested, which can shorten timelines, but the pattern holds.
| Period | Typical progress |
|---|---|
| Months 1 to 2 | Audit, technical fixes, Arabic URL structure, tracking for calls and WhatsApp, Business Profile cleanup |
| Months 3 to 4 | First movement on Arabic long-tail and local terms |
| Months 4 to 9 | Page one for mid-competition service keywords; leads become measurable |
| Months 9 to 18 | National head terms in competitive sectors; organic starts replacing paid clicks |
Measure the return against what the same lead costs you in Google Ads. When Hovi Digital Lab rebuilt the website and SEO for Waseel, a Saudi health technology company, traffic grew 400%, the brand reached first place on Google for 900% more keywords, and the programme returned 500% ROI. The full story is in the Waseel SEO case study.
How to budget for SEO in Saudi Arabia
- Start with a free baseline. Run your site through our website grader to see speed, metadata and mobile issues before any agency call.
- Decide your languages and cities. Arabic only, English only or both, and which cities. This single decision moves the quote more than anything else.

Frequently asked questions
How much does SEO cost per month in Saudi Arabia?
Most Saudi SMEs pay SAR 5,000 to SAR 15,000 a month for an SEO retainer, with bilingual Arabic and English programmes at the upper end. Single-city local packages start around SAR 2,200, while e-commerce and national campaigns typically run SAR 12,000 to SAR 30,000 or more. Agency prices in the Kingdom are usually quoted before 15% VAT.
Is SEO cheaper in Jeddah than in Riyadh?
Not in any consistent way. Saudi agency price guides publish national ranges rather than city price lists. What changes the cost is how contested your keywords are. Riyadh B2B and government-adjacent terms are usually the most competitive, while Jeddah is busiest in retail, hospitality and healthcare. Each additional city you target adds landing pages and local work to the scope.
How much does an SEO audit cost in Saudi Arabia?
Saudi agencies typically price audits and one-off SEO projects between SAR 5,000 and SAR 30,000, depending on site size, the number of languages and whether implementation is included. A small bilingual service site sits near the lower end. A large e-commerce store or a migration audit sits near the top. Always ask for a prioritised fix list as the deliverable.
Why is Arabic SEO more expensive?
Arabic SEO needs native keyword research across standard Arabic and Saudi dialect, native copywriters and a separate right-to-left technical setup, so it costs more than translating English pages. The spend usually pays off: only 0.6% of websites publish in Arabic, so well-built Arabic pages in Saudi Arabia often face weaker competition than English ones.
How long does SEO take to show results in KSA?
Most Saudi businesses see early ranking movement in three to four months and measurable leads in four to nine months. Arabic long-tail and local terms tend to move first. Competitive national keywords in real estate, finance or e-commerce often need nine to eighteen months. Plan and budget for at least six months before judging the channel.
